Islandia Press, Inc. is a Miami-based 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to provide paid opportunities for emerging area artists and writers, and to provide free, accessible, and inspiring historical and literary educational events for the local community.

We do this Via:
1) Islandia Journal: A quarterly print periodical, an e-mail newsletter, and engaging effectively on social media. Our publication deals specifically with themes of regional history, myth, and ecology. We reflect the rich cultural diversity of our region, so in practice we prioritize uplifting the marginalized voices of our region, specifically by placing LGBTQ+ and BIPOC folks of South Florida in managing positions. This project was generously funded by the Knight Foundation

2) Islandia Air: An artist-in-residence program focused on a providing resources, opportunities, and connections to galleries and museums for one specific early career Miami artist whose work is reflective of connections between South Florida and the Caribbean.

3) The Miamilandia Podcast: A forthcoming program of hidden regional history told via first person narrative, interviews with experts, and an original score. The stories on Miamilandia will also be performed live with accompanying music in early 2024.

4)Social Media: Follow @islandiajournal on instagram where we post our staff's found archival material and perspectives on South Florida.
